I ordered the EA20 from MF a few weeks ago. I received one that was damaged first, and it had very poor craftsmanship, excess glue on the seems, scuffs in the finish and a large spot where the finish had bubbled and completely flaked off, so I sent it back. I received another that was built better (better, not perfect) and started playing it immediately. There was some string buzz (not from neck bow which can be fixed with truss rod adjustment) but after some work, I got rid of it. It is a very nice looking guitar with some accents that make it pop (my head stock is not black, it is the same natural finish as the body) and the price isn't bad, but with the inconsistency of workmanship, you might get a good one, or you might get a lemon. Overall, I think you can get a better guitar for the price.Washburn Festival EA20 Spruce Top Acoustic Cutaway Electric Mini Jumbo Flame Maple Guitar with 4-Band EQ Natural
.After lusting over this guitar for awhile, I finally took the plunge. I needed a low-cost replacement for a Chaylor T-5 that I sold recently - and I just wanted something for strumming when the urge strikes. Something I call a "campfire acoustic" (and usually found used in a pawn shop). I couldn't believe how great this one looks in the photos EVERYWHERE online, and without sticker-shock!
Well I just got mine yesterday and immediately noticed the poor workmanship (crooked tuners and off center nut, etc.), AND the fact that there is NO abalone inlay ANYWHERE on it! The headstock photos of this instrument clearly shows an abalone Washburn logo and medallion AND abalone inlay ring around the soundhole. In REALITY both of these are cheap looking DECALS! The one on the headstock is the worst of the 2 because it's nothing more than a bright white decal under the finish - AND is poorly aligned and off center! The one around the soundhole is at LEAST a low quality photo reproduction of the true abalone as shown in the pics.
I'm a self-taught guitar tech (having done all of my own guitar maintenance and customization's since my earliest guitars in my teen years), so making any instrument better-than-factory has always been a given for me. My point is that this guitar has all of the potential that I expected, but I NEVER expected to be mislead! And that's PRECISELY what Washburn is doing with the ad campaign for this particular model of the Festival line. I like it (for the price), so it's a keeper. I just don't appreciate dishonesty from ANY manufacturer. The product photos should reflect only the TRUTH!!

.I am sixty years of age now and have owned more guitars than I can remember, but this guitar is perfect for me.
It is almost as expressive to every nuance of style from harmonics, to soft hand muted picking, to high volume strumming of that of a banjo head.
It meets every single requirement for me as a musician, including looks! The blonde version I purchased reminded me so much of a George Benson GB10 I had back in the eighties, absolutely gorgeous fire maple backs and sides.
I just dropped by a local music store not even looking to buy, but after playing it for only 10 minutes, I walked it to the counter and bought it. I never even plugged it into an amp! ... but the on board electronics are no let down either! Fast and accurate pitch adjustable built in tuner, EQ, Notch, Volume, great sounding amplified as well.
I don't know if every single one of these guitars sounds and plays like mine, or if mine is just one of those rare combinations when the universe conspires and all the pieces fall into place to create and result in a perfect instrument, but all I do know is that I am in LOVE with this guitar!!

.This is an awsome guitar that looks and sounds great. The perfect guitar for the intermediate or entry level guitarist. Even an experienced guitar player like myself (47 years)wont find too much to complain about. What I like is the full sound from the smaller body size. You cannot go wrong with this guitar.

.I have played guitar for 41 years, have built my own electric, and done some of my own neck and body adjustments. It would be fair to say I know my way around a guitar. I bought the Washburn EA-20 because I was looking for a less expensive back up for my Martin and an acoustic with the tone one gets from a maple body. I chose Washburn because I own and love a Washburn J-3. I ordered this in 10/2015 and when it arrived, it looked nice, had a flawless finish, and the sound I was seeking. The pre-amp was useful and the tuner was very accurate. All good so far. Upon playing it, it had some fret issues around the 12th and 13th fret on the high E string causing the string to play off pitch and buzz. Since it was under a lifetime warranty, I called Washburn to seek help with this problem. Good luck with that.
Washburn is owned by a music conglomerate and after several attempts I finally spoke to someone who told me to take it to the local Guitar Center. Their guitar guy had no clue and would not discuss repairs under warranty. Six months later, the pre-amp died. I am sure it is a bad wire somewhere, but again, it was under warranty (1 year) and I could not contact someone at Washburn for this issue.
Though the guitar still plays well, with the exception of the aforementioned problems, I would suggest you try another brand. Epi has an A/E in this style and it plays and sounds OK.

.I really enjoy playing this guitar for all around music. Jazz, Rock, Blues, Etc... It is one of the best acoustic guitars I've owned. It cost a little more than the Washburn basic acoustic but will worth the money. One of the best features and there are may more is the built in tuner one of the best tuners i've used. Pay the extra money and you will not be disappointed.
