The enduring strength of the Telecaster guitar is its elegant simplicity. One of the longest-running production models in history, it has been modified only slightly since its early 1951 debut. The American Vintage '52 Telecaster Reissue has a premium ash body, one-piece U-shaped maple neck and 7.25"-radius fingerboard. It features two American Vintage Tele single-coil pickups, original Tele circuit with three-position switch, brass bridge saddles, ashtray bridge cover, single-ply black pickguard, chrome hardware and master volume and master tone controls. Outstanding workmanship! With the new finish, and fat neck, the revised '52 Tele is very similar to the famed Custom Shop Nocaster. The new neck pickup is killer - more articulate but still Tele (not like the "Twisted Tele" neck pickup that sounds like a Strat). The new bridge pup is essentially the same as before... classic Tele! This guitar has got tone for days, but thats a good thing 'cause the neck is so comfy you'll never want to put it down. The hardware is very very nice. Nitro finish is top notch, and the colour is bang on. The wiring harness is top quality with awesome pots + caps, and cloth pushback wiring. The early 50s switch tip is a nice touch, as is the bakelite guard. The G&G case, leather strap, and case candy are all very nice as well.
My only issue is the incorrect 12th fret dot spacing, which is '53 style not '52. Didn't stop me from buying it tho.

.I'll start by saying that I have had older '52 reissues (pre-2012), and yes, this one IS different. Is it better? It all depends on what you're looking for in a vintage reissue Tele.
I will say that the newer reissues have bigger necks and hotter pickups. I like big necks on my Teles, so it's not a big deal, but if that isn't your thing, you may want to steer clear.
Also, the pickups seem to be slightly hotter. They still have that vintage sweetness to them, but the older reissue pickups sounded a little more softer and janglier. I will say that the newer ones are probably better suited for rock and blues than the old ones, but yes, they are still perfect for country.
You have to be really careful with the finish on these newer ones. The finish is still nitro, but it's what Fender calls a "flash-coat". It still looks great and contributes to the overall sound, as you'd expect, but you just have to be careful with it. Should be a lot easier to get that "reliced" look, though.
Overall, a great guitar. I really like what Fender did with these, even though I like the older reissues better. I'm going to try and get a '58 and a '64 to keep this one company. Yes, they're that good.

.This thing is awesome. Heavy enough to use for self defense, not so heavy that you'll need a chiropractor.
It plays amazing, if you like the fatter necks and smaller frets... which I do.
It looks, feels, plays like a dream.
My only complaints are that my hands are sore from all the people wanting to high five me when they see it.... and I had to learn kung fu to beat back the flocks of babes that interrupt my guitar time.

.Bought this for my collection, enjoy it looks-finish/sounds/feels/plays great. The neck is CHUNKIER than most. The single ply pick guard, buy another if you play often not sure of the durability of that but that is part of the "nostalgia" I guess.
The pick ups are noticeably different than my Tele Deluxe N/3. I get more warmth from the AV52 pups.

.P'ups not excellent for dry playing at a loud gig if you need silence from your instrument. Outside of that, this is the best dang guitar I've ever owned, (out of 29). Neck is extremely comfy, might not be for you but it's okay to be wrong. Both pickups sound like keepers, and the hardware and case are high quality as well. Needed some additional time for set-up, but was well worth the effort.

.Great Tone - Good value on special or level II (mine was in very nice condition)
