Product Description
Supercharged with a plethora of flexible features, the Bassbreaker 15 is a top-notch performer for stage or studio. This chameleon-like amp creates its magic with a trio of 12AX7 preamp tubes feeding into two EL84 power tubes for 15 watts of tight, modern tone. The updated three-position Gain Structure switch gives the amp three distinct "boutique" voices, ranging from mild to wild. Bassbreaker Series
The late-'50s tweed-covered Fender Bassman is often called the grandfather of all guitar amps. What started earlier that decade as the companion amp for the Precision Bass actually became one of the most beloved guitar amps of all time, thanks to its simplicity and versatility, its wide dynamic range and warm tube overdrive, its full-frequency stage-filling power and its rugged roadworthiness.
Fender tweed amps evolved into the brown, blonde, blackface and silverface models of the 1960s. Along with the dramatic evolution of their look, the amps were redesigned each time to sound brighter and cleaner.
New Bassbreaker Series guitar amplifiers continue that fascinating lineage with yet another sound and style, a kind of "parallel evolution" in which time-honored Fender amp DNA results in a satisfyingly dirtier tone that evokes the dawn of hard rock.
The new series takes the 45-watt 1959 Bassman design and breaks it with features including the early Fender block-letter logo, black tweed covering, and refined pointer knobs plus power tubes hinting at the U.K. amps that "borrowed" Fender circuits in the 1960s. The sound is one of pure and unadulterated tube greatness. Power: 15W (tube) Tubes: three 12AX7 (preamp); two EL84 (power amp) Single channel Single input Speaker: 1x12 in. Didn't buy it from MF but wanted to save some people some headaches. Bought mine new about two weeks ago. Nice little amp, sounds good, fairly versatile, even looks good. But as mentioned above there is a problem, mainly in EFX loop. Fender is aware of it, should be a fix in about 4-6 weeks. When using the loop there is a buzz. Can get pretty nasty. It seems there is a big transformer on the right side of the amp if you're facing it. It doesn't seem to be shielded properly. The temp solution is to not run any cords on that side. However after I got it back home it started a new issue. If the loop is in us the volume went way LOUD even with gain and master controls off. When it works I love it but Fender is getting this one backFender Bassbreaker 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp
.I've had this amp for about 1 week; and I can't stop playing it. I have a Blues Deville 4x10 that I love, but it's way too loud, too heavy and I only use the clean channel because like most Fender amps the gain sucks.
Well Fender more than made up for it with the Bassbreaker! I'm not a high gain player per se but I've been playing with that setting a lot because of how great it sounds...move over Marshall!
The low gain setting is likely wher I'll use this most for live performance. This amp loves pedals; and I haven't even tried he effects loop yet!
For me the most inspired setting is the medium gain position. I've always wanted the scenario where you can turn down your guitar and clean the signal right up, but then turn it up for soloing. The medium gain on the Bassbreaker 15 combo delivers exactly what I hoped for; especially with my Les Paul!
They say a truly great piece of gear will change and expand your playing...definitely the case with this amp...buy one!

.Fender's Bassbreaker provides a wealth of tone and power without breaking the bank. It's a versatile, powerful, innovative amp that will inspire guitarist for eyars to come. Three features that make this amp standout are the gain structure knob, effects loop, amd xlr output that allows me to record directly to my ipad while the speaker is muted. Also, the Celestion speaker is fantastic. Now, back to playing.
P.S. The customer service at Muscians Friend was superlative. They answered all my questions and delivered ahead of schedule! Many thanks!

.Although I do a lot of home recording for my own enjoyment using a DAW, I haven't had a need for a real (physical) amplifier for some time (when the need arises, I tend to pull out my trusty 40-year-old solid state Acoustic 270).
However, as time passed I eventually felt the need for a small, warm tube amp to gain some tonal character. I did my research for several models in the price range I was looking for (<$1K) and wasn't overwhelmed by any of the models I tested, and decided to put off my search for a while.
Fender coincidentally published a press release for their new Bassbreaker line, just as I was ready to hang up my search. I read the specs carefully. The features that grabbed right away were the EL84 tone stack, the ability to run silently using the power amp mute feature, and the built-in XLR recording output. Well, I pulled the trigger on the purchase with little hesitation.
This amp fit me well right out of the box the day it arrived. Although I don't believe I'll be utilizing the gain-structure switch for most of my applications, its tonal range is just what I was looking for. The unit is quiet at low volumes, but also breaks up nicely with increased gain. And no surprise, the built-in recording features work fantastically with my USB interface and Ableton DAW.
Can't say enough positive things about this one. Fender definitely got this puppy right!

.Solid version of the Bass Man in a 12" 15w Combo - nothing beats a vintage Bass Man - but this is an easier setup/teardown - and doesn't p--s-ff the venue owner
Fender Bassbreaker 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp
.OK, I waited several months to get the Bassbreaker 15 combo as it had an FX Send and Return. After getting it and hooking up the Send and Return, I sent it back. The FX Send and Return didn't work well with my Line 6 Pod XT Live at all. It changed the sound and the overdrive settings were turned into sheer volume without the grit. Boss pedals worked better but still the sound was altered, and not for the better. As a stand alone amp, the speaker sounds like a 10". My Super Champ X2 WITH a 10" sounds way bigger, but no FX Send and Return.

.Been using the amp now for a few weeks and I have to say that this is probably the best 15 watt combo amp I have ever used. In the past I have used the DSL series, cheaper Peavey and Crate amps, and I use this one along side a Marshall Vintage Modern 100 watt, and while the Bassbreaker's tone is certainly not similar to the Marshall at all, I think the two compliment one another well.
The clean channel on this amp is fantastic. Very sparkly, and has enough EQ to allow you to dial in your tone very well. The built in reverb is delightful, and I have no plans at the moment to add a reverb pedal to either of y rigs, as they both have quality reverb on board. I have not tried the Bassbreaker with my cabinet yet, but I do not suspect it would disappoint in that area either.
I played an American Clapton Strat, American Tele, and a Gibson Les Paul Studio through the Bassbreaker and I felt the amp was true to the tone of all three, and especially with the Les Paul, since it really responded well to humbuckers (490/498). In overdrive, all three guitars retained their signature sounds, with the LP really coming to life through the Amp, and was able to get some very crunchy/meaty riffs going on her that were absolutely addicting!
All in all, I am pleased with the Bassbreaker, and very pleased with the price I got it for with the in-cart special. Thanks MF!
Fender Bassbreaker 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp
.This amp took a little while to win me over. I was searching for a bass man or Marshall 1974x tone and decided to give this Fender new model a try. I wasn't sure about the Celestion v type speaker, but after break in I really like. The amp doesn't sound like a Marshall or Vox, it has more of a Fender bassman clean or cranked tone. Eq is very flexible and gain stage range is quite wide from cleans to super dirty. Still don't think this is a heavy metal players amp, but certainly classic rock to hair metal. You just need to spend some time with it to find your favorite tones as it has more controls than your basic Fender tube amp. The sounds you want are in there, but you need to massage the eq. May not be what some folks want to do, but once you get them you probably won't need to use any pedals which is a big plus.
Fender Bassbreaker 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp
.The Bassbreaker is truly an incredible amplifier for the money, Id highly recommend this amp to anyone in need of a versatile, pedal loving, powerful amp.
